Menopausal symptoms

The menopause is defined as the end of the last menstrual period, and in the UK it occurs at a median age of 53 years. The change in hormone levels during perimenopause and menopause can cause acute symptoms, such as hot flushes and night sweats, anxiety, vaginal dryness, fatigue, sleep disturbance, mood swings, forgetfulness and loss of libido.
