Multiple sclerosis (MS)

Around 100,000 people in the UK have multiple sclerosis (MS), which is an autoimmune disorder of the central nervous system. Physical symptoms commonly include vision problems, balance problems and dizziness, fatigue, bladder problems and stiffness and/or spasms. It may also affect bowel function, speech and swallowing, and cognitive function. While acupuncture cannot arrest or ‘cure’ MS, it may be very helpful in alleviating symptoms.
