Nausea and vomiting

Nausea and vomiting are a feature of many conditions, particularly chemotherapy, some types of migraine, and after an operation. They are also commonly experienced by women in early pregnancy. If vomiting is prolonged, it can be associated with weight loss, dehydration and electrolyte imbalance, and may lead to hospitalisation. Although there are several medications that help to control the syndrome, people prone to nausea and vomiting may not be able to take them orally; and pregnant women often prefer to take no medication.
